Saeed Kolivand

The whole run, set in print -- a frontend engineer building AI-powered tools.

This is the comic read flat: every panel pressed to the page, no motion, no camera. Same story, same lettering, ink that finally holds still.

Cover -- first printing

The Cover

Harley, the fluffy golden-brown tabby cat mascot, seated and watching the desk.

ISSUE #1 - JUL 2026 - FIRST PRINTING

The origin issue: one dev, three worlds, zero ghosting.

Issue 1 -- one window still lit

The Rain

A lone figure at a single lit window on a dark, rain-streaked block.
  • Rain again. The kind that gets into your commits.
  • One window lit on the whole dead block. Mine.
  • Then the cat jumped. Cats always know the cut.

Issue 2 -- keys under the lamp

The Desk

One window still lit; the keys under the lamp. The workspace:

Issue 3 -- the stack in neon

The City

The stack, lit up in neon over the code city.

Issue 4 -- kid to senior

The Origin

Harley, the fluffy golden-brown tabby cat mascot, seated and watching the desk.

Every issue has an origin. Here's mine, in panels.

  1. Started ProgrammingA kid, a hand-me-down machine, one blinking cursor.
  2. UniversityUniversity taught me the words. The cursor taught me the rest.
  3. First JobFirst job. First paycheck for making the machine flinch.
  4. Moved to GermanyTwo suitcases and a one-way ticket. Cologne now.
  5. Senior Frontend EngineerSenior Frontend. Same curiosity, sharper tools.
  6. Open SourceNights I leave the lights on in open source.
  7. AI Job HunterThen I built a robot to hunt the jobs for me.
A child at a hand-me-down computer, one cursor blinking in the dark.
A young developer arriving in Cologne with two suitcases.

Issue 5 -- skills off the line

The Press

Skills come off the line, department by department.

REACT

The floor where the UI gets stamped out, part by part.

TYPESCRIPT

Blueprints. Every wire labeled before it ships.

TAURI

Heavy machinery, orange sparks. Presses the whole app into one desktop binary.

AI

The thinking department. Wires itself while you wait.

Issue 7 -- station by station

The Line

The line runs station to station.

  1. Started Programming

Boarded here. Didn't know the route yet.

  2. University

Long stop. Learned to read the map.

  3. First Job

First transfer. Somebody paid the fare.

  4. Moved to Germany

Crossed a border in the dark. New line.

  5. Senior Frontend Engineer

Express track now. They handed me the throttle.

  6. Open Source

Side platform I keep coming back to.

  7. AI Job Hunter

Built my own car and hitched it on.

  8. Streaming

Last stop's lit red. ON AIR.

Issue 8 -- live and on air

Issue 9 -- the architecture, by hand

The Sketch

The architecture, by hand: Frontend to API to Workers to AI to DB to Search to Desktop.

  • LINK 1Frontend: where the user thinks it's simple.
  • LINK 2API: the polite bouncer. Checks every request.
  • LINK 3Workers: they do the boring parts, quietly.
  • LINK 4AI: reads the room, writes the letter.
  • LINK 5DB + Search: everything remembered, everything findable.
  • LINK 6Desktop: runs on your machine. No cloud, no leaks.

Issue 10 -- the whole run at once

The Spread

Harley, the fluffy golden-brown tabby cat mascot, seated and watching the desk.

The whole run at once, laid out like a constellation:

  • The Cover
  • The Rain
  • The Desk

  • The Origin
  • The Press
  • The Headline
  • The Line
  • The Signal
